United Way Announces "Bright Apple" School Winner

UNITED WAY HONORS POWELL MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH PRESTIGIOUS APPLE AWARD

United Way of Hernando County is proud to announce Powell Middle School
as this year’s winner of United Way’s “Bright Apple Award”*.

Powell Middle School has shown outstanding support for the community through GIVING, ADVOCATING, & VOLUNTEERING. Their enthusiasm when it comes to investing in core solutions within Hernando County is tremendous. A special thank you to Principal Jamie Young and Assistant Principal/UW School Coordinator Laura Kane for their outstanding leadership, and to all Powell faculty for going above and beyond this year.

*The Bright Apple Award is awarded each year to a Hernando County School chosen for their community involvement and participation with United Way. This traveling trophy represents a strong faculty for their leadership and being a positive influence, not just in the classrooms but out in our community. The recipients of the "Bright Apple Award" will be recognized for their support in education, campaign, community projects, and volunteerism.
