Nature Coast Technical High School Receives Bright Apple

Nature Coast Technical High School Receives Bright Apple Award

Spring Hill, FL – (September 19th, 2019) – Each year, United Way of Hernando County’s annual Bright Apple Award is presented to a Hernando County School for their dedication, hard work, community support and United Way participation. The trophy represents leadership and a positive influence, not just in the classrooms but out in the community. This year, the recipient of this prestigious award was Nature Coast Technical High School; they are the first high school to receive this award!

On 8/27/19 during United Way’s annual visit to Nature Coast, Board Chair Ebony Perez presented the faculty and staff with the traveling trophy and engraved plaque, explaining the impact that the high school had on the Hernando community. Last year, Nature Coast had 6 teachers volunteer and donate their time for the 12th Annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive, and 11 donors pledged over $1,916 to the Community Investment Campaign. This year’s Teacher of the Year was a proud Nature Coast member, and the Digital Video Production Team proudly partnered with United Way for CETA’s 45th Student Recognition Celebration.

United Way is honored to work closely with such caring educators. Thank you for sharing a vision of a stronger community, and for recognizing the local need by choosing to help United Way focus on these very important initiatives-- Health, Education, Financial Stability, and Basic Needs/Crisis Prevention. Congratulations Nature Coast Technical High School for embodying what it means to LIVE UNITED!
