United Way of Hernando County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program
 
Spring Hill, FL – (August 29, 2019) –United Way of Hernando County is partnering with the IRS to provide free tax preparation to residents through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. United Way is looking for volunteers to help provide this free federal tax service to individuals with an annual household income of $55,000 or less.
 
United Way is in need of greeters, tax preparers, and quality reviewers to help out during tax season, which runs January through April. Interested Volunteers will have the opportunity to attend a VITA Volunteer Meet & Greet on Tuesday, October 22nd at 9:30 am, at Capital City Bank, where you will learn more about VITA and see if it is the right fit for you! All volunteers will be trained and certified by the IRS. The VITA training classes will be held on December 9th, 11th & 12th at PHSC Spring Hill Campus – 450 Beverly Ct. Spring Hill, FL 34606 (online training is also available). At that time, volunteer hours will be coordinated for the upcoming 2020 tax season.
