MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING FOR DISASTER VOLUNTEERS

  • WHEN: Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • WHERE: In-person at Hernando County Emergency Management - 18900 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34601
  • PURPOSE: Hernando County's Long-Term Recovery Group Sub-Committee "Emotional & Spiritual Healthcare" have proposed a special all-day training specifically for Disaster Relief Volunteers (DRV), LTRG Members, and COAD Members. This Mental Health First Aid opportunity is designed to teach you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This in-person training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care - especially before, during, and after a local disaster.
