Publix Super Markets Charities Contributes $169,000 Back to Hernando

Spring Hill, FL – (April 7, 2016) – United Way of Hernando County Board of Directors and staff gathered with Publix Mangers and Associates to thank them for their support in United Way’s community work.  Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc. proudly presented United Way with a $169,000 contribution to be invested in local Health, Education, and Financial Stability partner programs here in Hernando County.

Thanks to Publix Associate pledges to United Way’s Annual Campaign, Publix Super Markets Charities match an additional 75 cents for every dollar donated. Hernando's eight Publix Stores are by far the largest contributors to United Way of Hernando County’s Community Investment Fund!

“We are so thankful for our partnership with United Way,” District Manager Allyn Welch shared at Thursday’s check presentation. “They do so many great things for those in need in the communities we serve.  Our associates go above and beyond showing their compassion for others, giving back to their communities, year after year.”

Publix knows what it means to LIVE UNITED. Not only do they Give, but they Advocate and Volunteer as well, logging over 500 volunteer hours for the 2015 year. Thank you Publix for being our Largest Community Pace Setter and Corporate Donor. Your support inspires us!
