UNITED WAY HOSTS GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN SEMINAR
"FALL INTO A NETWORK OF SUPPORT"

Spring Hill, FL - United Way of Hernando County and Hernando County Schools’ Parent Academy invite grandparents caring for their grandchildren to a free, interactive seminar on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:15 PM. The event will be held at Pasco-Hernando State College – Spring Hill Campus, Rao Musunuru M.D. Conference Center (Building B), 450 Beverly Ct., Spring Hill, FL 34606.

This annual event, themed “Fall into a Network of Support”, provides grandparents and caregivers with access to local resources, tools, and community connections that empower families navigating kinship care. Attendees will enjoy catered breakfast and lunch, interactive learning sessions, and opportunities to network with peers and service providers.

This free seminar will feature sessions on:

  • Mental & Behavioral Health – Youth and Family Support Services
  • Technology – Guest Panel on School-Based Platforms, AI, and Online Safety
  • Legal Guidance – Understanding Kinship Care Options and Guardianship
  • Transitions – Preparing Youth for School, College, and Career Readiness

“When grandparents take on the role of parent, it often happens unexpectedly,” said Angie Bonfardino Executive Director at United Way of Hernando County. “Our goal is to connect them with resources, education, and a strong support network to help them feel confident and capable in their caregiving journey.”

Participants can also look forward to roundtable discussions, interactive activities, a keynote speaker, raffle prizes, community vendors, and more. This education initiative is made possible thanks to our Proud Sponsors at Regions Bank and supporting partners from Pasco-Hernando State College, Chick-fil-A, and Rookies Family Grille & Bar.

Registration is required. Easily reserve your seat online at UnitedWayHernando.org/GRG2025 or call (352) 688-2026.
