Position Statues:
Full-Time Monday-Friday 9am-5pm           Starting Pay Range: $17-$20 per hour
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent                       Job Classification: *Non-Exempt


COMMUNITY OUTREACH SUMMARY
This position is responsible for working towards achieving long-lasting, meaningful community change through United Way’s (UW) initiatives, which include but are not limited to: HEALTH, EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY, & BASIC NEEDS/CRISIS PREVENTION. This position will focus on goals and local impact areas set forth by our community needs. This position may be responsible for but not limited to program advocating, marketing and communications, campaign presentations, new funding opportunities, donor partnerships, emergency needs assistance, agency support, community research and collaboration development. This position works closely with volunteers and interns. Provides support for event management, policy and grant development, service referrals, etc., as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Excels at public speaking and presenting in an effective manner at a professional level.
  • Takes initiative with development of strategic plans to increase corporate and employee workplace partnerships, community engagement, sponsorships and investments.
  • Ability to recruit and manage multiple relationships and work with diverse sectors of the community.
  • Attend networking events, coalition meetings, host tabletops, and fundraisers in the community representing UW.
  • Share responsibility for social media outlets, website updates, newsletter, volunteer database, public service announcements and outreach tactics.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all workplace campaign relationships, Partner Programs, community services, volunteer coordinator, and serve as liaison between them and UW.
  • Create marketing strategies and execute production of materials through social media, project flyers & brochures
  • Organize, administer projects, and multitask while maintaining accuracy and promptness.
  • Assist with event management and coordination of all in-house and outreach opportunities.
  • This position works on both a micro and macro level in social services.
  • Will work one on one with clients in need of emergency assistance, additional resources, support, etc.
  • Complete general office tasks such as answering phones, sending out emails, collecting the mail, greeting clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Familiar with our Hernando community.
  2. Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Publisher, Excel, etc.)
  3. Comfortable with public speaking. Position requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Professional workplace/office etiquette answering phones and emails.
  5. Easily able to execute creative social media strategies.
  6. Capable of taking on a leadership role with corporate campaign partnerships, agencies, volunteers and staff.
  7. Requires skill in multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and performing under pressure.
  8. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  9. Ability to listen and comprehend instructions.
  10. Enthusiasm and commitment to collaborative community activities.

Desirable:
Experience with OneEach Technologies, Constant Contact, PiktoChart, Canva.
Experience with health & human resources or social services.
A reliable team player who is on board for a long-term commitment and meaningful career.

*In compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is classified as a non-exempt position and the employee is eligible for approved overtime. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
