Wash Away Those Love Bugs at "Books & Bubbles" Car Wash

United Way’s Student Board Hosts Fundraiser for Free Book Program

Spring Hill, FL – (October 2nd, 2019) – United Way of Hernando County’s Student Board is hosting “Books & Bubbles,” their first fundraising car wash for United Way’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. On Saturday, October 19th from 10am-2pm, the Student Board will be getting cars squeaky clean at Verizon-Cellular Sales located at 4160 Commercial Way in Spring Hill. The suggested donation is $5, but all contributions are welcome.

This year, the Student Board was tasked with planning and organizing a project that benefits Hernando County residents. They took the initiative to focus on education and are hosting a car wash where all proceeds will benefit United Way’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. Any child enrolled in this program and living in Hernando County receives a free book in the mail every month, from birth to age 5.

At this car wash, the Student Board will also be collecting donations of new and gently used books for United Way’s Little Free Library program, a book swap initiative which encourages parents and caregivers to build their child’s personal library by “taking a book and leaving a book.”
